July Wrap Up
July was the month that I jumped on the Triathlon Training band wagon and really started to focus, but it was also a month plagued by hot weather, asthma attacks, busy weekends and a pulled muscle. I am happy to say that with the help of my doctor my asthma has been under control and with the help of lots of ice and heating packs my calf muscle is doing much better (still not 100% but getting there). I also got to spend a lot of time with my family which was wonderful.
So July was definitely full of excitement and adventure! I am proud of my focus and susequent milage – it was a lot of hardwork to get out there and stay on top of my training.
August Goals
Now that my asthma is under control and my calf muscle is doing better I hope to really amp up my training this month as the Triathlon is only 1 month away!!! Craziness!
My Master Training Plan:
Run 3.1 miles, 2 days per week
Bike 12 miles, 1 day
Brick (Bike 10 – 12 miles + Run 2 – 3 miles) 1 day
Swim 1/2 mile 1 day
Stretch/ Rest 1 day
Yoga 1 day
This will hopefully help me get to where I need to be so that I can feel good during the Triathlon on 9/11. Notice, I didn’t say that I hope to win or finish under a certain amount of time. Nope, I just want to finish and feel good throughout the event!
When I plan my other life goals I like to look at my Big Goals for 2011 and see where I am and how much further I have to “reach” my goal. Some of my goals are habits that I hope to bring into my life and continue while some are goals that I hope to meet by the end of the year.
My other August Goals include:
Go to a concert or music event
Start the outline for my novel
Have a picnic with Josh
Try 2 new Vegan Recipes
Replace 3 of my cleaners or products with a non-toxic version
Plant a tomato plant (another attempt at gardening)
Read the Short Story book I just bought
Finish my writing exercies (I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile)
Continue to grow my Blog (get business cards, offer to write Guest Posts, Twitter chats)
Start wrapping up my Elizabeth Stone House Book Drive
Continue researching my Creative Soul in Motion clothing and yoga mat product ideas
Question of the day: How was your July?? What are your plans for August?
