Great 1 min Meditation to Center & Ground

Posted on: 3 Oct 2011

This morning I was feeling a bit worked up:

Busy weekend + new job + old job + computer issues + upcomming 10K = a frazzled and stressed out Erin

Rather than letting it continue and spiral out of control I calmly walked to the bathroom, went into the biggest stall and planted my feet with my back up against the wall…

I rolled out my neck and shoulders letting my arms drop to the sides.

After a moment I brought my right hand to my sternum, my left hand to my heart and took a deep breath.

Then for every inhale I stated an intention in my head:

For the first three breaths I focused on my breathing energy into heart:

Open my heart to compassion

Open my heart to understanding

Open my heart to kindess

Then I moved onto my core:

Bring balance to my spirit

Bring stability to my spirit

Bring joy to my spirit

Letting my arms drop I focused on my whole body:

I am centered

I am grounded

I am focused

I am happy

Then I took one last deep breath, shook out my arms and shoulders and left the bathroom a calmer, happier person.

Question of the Day: How do you de-stress during a crazy day?
