300th Blog Post!!

Posted on: 17 Apr 2012

Wow, big news today: this is the 300th blog post that I have written for Creative Soul in Motion! Woohoo!!

Anyways, the last couple of weeks have gone by in a bit of a blur as I’ve had a lot going on in my life. Sometimes it’s useful to break up your life like a chart so you can see where all your time/energy is going. So here we go:

1. Home Improvements (30%): Since our roommate moved out a couple weeks ago we have been redecorating/reorganizing our apartment and currently it is in complete shambles as we’re in the midst of painting.

2. I just joined the awesome website BodiMojo as their Managing Editor! (30%)

BodiMojo is an amazing website that aims to promote confidence in teenage girls. I am so excited to work with Tara Cousineau, the brilliant and creative founder, and to share a message of hope and empowerment to teen girls across the world. Now, even though our focus is teens I think there is a lot on there that anyone of any age can relate to and learn from, so check it out! BodiMojo = Body + Motivation + Journey

3. 2nd draft of Just Breathe (my novel) (15%)

Yup, I’m still plugging along and hoping to have it done by mid May! The plan is to start sending it out to publishers by this Fall so as long as I keep moving forward I’m still on schedule.

4. My blog and Ebook (7.5%)

Unfortunately this is one area that needed to be cut back due to lack of time and energy. But honestly, my blog is meant to be a place where I can express myself and talk about my life, self improvement and general wellness. So it’d be counter intuitive to beat myself up just because I didn’t post everyday last week. Rather than thinking of it as a chore it’s my area to be creative and fun so it’s no big deal if I publish less!

5. Fitness activities (10%)

This area is always going to be a top priority for me. If I cut out my lunch time workout I would be a complete basket case!

6. Everything else (7.5%)

This includes the norm: cooking dinner, prepping lunches, answering email, working (which is funny because this is actually 40 hours each week but alas only falls into 7.5% of my focus/energy), cleaning and everything else that I have to do each and everyday.

S0 needless to say it’s been a pretty busy month which has made some of my goals get shuffled around and moved to the back burner. But that’s okay! Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is to be flexible and aware of the changes in our lives. Like my yoga instructor said the other day, “We can only do so much in any given day. Do your best and then let go of the expectations and guilt you harbor when you don’t get everything on your to do list done. Just let it go and remember, you always have tomorrow.”

Oh yea, and……

Tonight I’m hosting #Fitblog at 9 PM EST!!!

We’re going to talk about something that’s Better Than Cardio for your heart – volunteering! Personally, I love to volunteer in my community and find that it makes me a better person overall so tonight we’re going to chat about where and why people give back!

What is #Fitblog you ask?

“Whether you’re into health and fitness or you’re just looking for some inspiration to change the way you look at life, #Fitblog is an upbeat and welcoming place to be! The live chats are led by rotating moderators with topics that change each week. You’re guaranteed to make new friends and get fitter — on Twitter!”

Never been part of a Twitter chat? It’s easy and fun!

“#Fitblog uses the Twitter service and a number of other tools provided by Hashtag Social Media. It uses Twitter’s OAuth (Open Authorization) to let participants seamlessly and safely log in using their existing accounts. Once signed in, participants will only see tweets that include the #FitBlog hashtag.”
