I’ve Been Colored Rad!!

Posted on: 16 Jul 2012

Sunday morning was seriously one of the best mornings EVER as I participated in my first ever Color Me Rad 5ks!!

Color Me Rad is a totally exhilarating experience where you are literally bombarded with colors. Bright green, vibrant pink, florescent yellow, fabulous blue and beautiful purple are tossed and thrown at you and around you until you’re colored from head to toe and look like a running rainbow. The starting line looks like a puffy white cloud as everyone is clean as a whistle, then as you run through the course you go through 5 color stations where you dance and prance and jump through colors. Your skin, hair, bandana, shirt, shorts, shoes and socks all become a canvas for fun and silliness.

This isn’t a race for neat freaks or those looking to set a personal record (no one even kept track of your time) – this is for those who want to forget about their bills, work, to do list and have a crazy adventure. This is a race where time and speed don’t matter but smiles and laughter are highly encouraged. This is a race where tutus, funny wigs and children are more than welcome and everyone is friends on the course. Fun runs are great for everyone regardless of your running ability – I mean, it’s meant to be FUN not grueling!

Whitney, an awesome blogger (LiveRunLoveYoga) and a good friend of mine, ran with me and we had an amazing time as you can see from the pictures below!! This was my first fun run and I must say it was freaking awesome! I didn’t care about my time or speed or anything, I just chatted with Whitney and enjoyed being tie-dyed!

Wow that color spray looks intense! I think I might be one of those people who is a neat freak/doesn’t want to get sticky! Haha. Great photos.

    Hi Paulette,
It was so much fun! Even as someone who appreciates cleanliness, I loved every minute of it and definitely encourage others to try fun runs too!
