Saturday night, after my amazing day at Wellness by the Water with Kendall and Celeste, I was completely out of it and unable to contemplate dinner so Josh and I took an adventure to Jamaica Plain. Even though we’ve lived near Boston for over 4 years we’ve never checked out the cute suburb but I wish we had.
After walking up and down Centre Street we decided to stop in Vee Vee, a New American Bistro. I love the vibrant atmosphere – the walls have a beautiful orange hue, balanced with dark wooden paneling. The restaurant was pretty busy when we walked in but we found a couple seats at the bar and were planning on just having a drink before we went to a Mexican restaurant down the street. But we never ended up leaving, we quickly fell in love with the atmosphere and waitstaff and decided to stay for dinner.
I’m happy we did.
Dinner was absolutely delicious. Josh ordered a skirt steak salad and I had the “mushroom-stuffed veggies, creamless creamed corn, poblano peppers, crispy zucchini, salsa verde.” It was a vegan dish that was beyond amazing. Seriously one of the best dishes I’ve ever had and definitely one of the best vegan dishes I’ve ever enjoyed. It was full of flavor, different textures, and very filling (picture below). I literally wanted to lick my plate. Thankfully the cute bartender that chatted with us all night took it away before I did.
Best part? They had other vegan dishes on the menu that sounded just as good. And they have an entire Vegan Night on Wednesdays where they offer a three course completely vegan meal for $25.
Overall it was a great dinner and I can’t wait to go back!
